Vini Lopez and Steel Mill Retro to Perform at Mount Airy Casino Resort

Original member of Springsteen's E Street Band to hit Gypsies Nightclub and Lounge

Before there was Max Weinberg there was Vini Lopez, who played on Bruce Springsteen's first two albums, Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J., and The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle.

Now leading a band called Steel Mill Retro, Lopez will perform in Gypsies Nightclub and Lounge at Mount Airy Casino Resort on Feb. 20 at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Between 1968 and 1974 Lopez backed Springsteen in several bands, including the original Steel Mill and later the E Street Band. After leaving the E Street Band, Lopez went onto play drums with numerous Jersey Shore bands, including The Lord Gunner Group.

Since 2004, Lopez has led Steel Mill Retro, which has performed and recorded original Springsteen songs from the Steel Mill era.
