Get Ready to Roll with the Spinners at Mount Airy Casino Resort

Top 20 crooners of "Then Came You" and "The Rubberband Man" to perform Feb. 13

One of the greatest soul groups of the early '70s, the Spinners will take to the stage of Mount Airy Casino Resort on Saturday, Feb. 13. Two shows are scheduled for Gypsies Nightclub and Lounge at 6 and 9 p.m. Tickets are $35.

Creating a body of work that defined the lush, seductive sound of Philly soul, the Spinners recorded a number of soul classics, including "I'll Be Around," "Could It Be I'm Fallin in Love," "Mighty Love," "Then Came You," "Games People Play," and "The Rubberband Man."

Not only were their singles hits, but their albums constantly went gold and charted in the Top 20.

Today, original members Bobbie Smith and Henry Fambrough are joined onstage by lead singer Charlton Washington, high tenor Spike Deleon, bass singer Jessie Peck and a soul-infused, five-piece band.

The Spinners have six Grammy nominations and have performed twice during the awards ceremony. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999, they have also been awarded the Rhythm and Blues Foundation Award for their contribution to R & B. The group has performed for presidents, received a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame," and has appeared in numerous network and cable television specials paying tribute to the music of the 70's.
