Paradise Township, PA—Mount Airy Golf Club is closing for the season on September 3 to begin work on an extensive renovation plan.
The facelift will include reconstructed greens, expanded tee boxes, the installation of a new irrigation system and some exciting modifications to the original golf course layout. Upon completion and reopening, the course will be renamed Mount Airy Casino Resort Golf Club.
Mount Airy has long been viewed as the one of the most challenging and picturesque golf courses in the Poconos. Modifications to the course layout promise to add new challenges and enhance the golf experience for all handicap levels, while preserving the character of the original Mount Airy Golf Club.
To design and oversee the renovations, Mount Airy Casino Resort has retained the services of nationally recognized golf course architect Dan Schlegel of Schlegel Golf Course Design. Schlegel, a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, has extensive experience in renovating existing golf facilities and has worked on hundreds of projects over the past two decades.
The completed golf course at Mount Airy Casino Resort is scheduled to reopen in summer 2009.
