Patty Smyth and Scandal to perform Live at Mount Airy Casino Resort
Mount Pocono PA – Mount Airy Casino Resort is excited to be hosting American rock and roll band, Patty Smyth and Scandal. Lead vocalist Patty Smyth and her band, Scandal, will take to the stage on Saturday, May 14 starting at 9:00pm in Gypsies Lounge and Nightclub.
After forming the band Scandal in New York City in 1981, the band had much success early on. Patty Smyth and Scandal first enjoyed mainstream success in 1982 when the band’s self-titled debut release became Columbia Records’ biggest selling EP ever and included the hit “Goodbye To You.” This was followed by a further hit in 1984, “The Warrior.”
Following two solo albums in 1987 and 1992, Patty Smyth secured a further hit record via a duet with Don Henley of The Eagles; “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough” peaked at number 2 in the US charts and went gold. Its parent album, Patty Smyth, also went gold and featured two other minor hits, “No Mistakes” and “I Should Be Laughing.”
In July 2008, Billboard reported the upcoming release of new music by Patty Smyth and Scandal, and that they would be releasing 5 new songs including “Trust in Me,” Make it Hard,” and “End of the Girl.”
