Mount Airy Foundation
It requires strong community spirit, a healthy dose of personal fortitude, and a great deal of compassion to put the needs of your family, employees, neighbors, and friends above your own. Each new community that has welcomed the business interests of Louis DeNaples has benefited from his commitment to improving the human condition, one charitable act at a time.
The Pocono Mountains will receive the same benefit from the soon-to-be-developed Mount Airy Foundation. As the company’s non-profit component, the foundation is designed to oversee charitable giving to the communities in which Mount Airy Casino Resort’s employees live and work.
The foundation board will comprise employees and managers at Mount Airy Casino Resort, as well as a cross-section of community leaders. This diverse composition ensures that the foundation’s gifts and investments respond directly to the changing needs of a growing community.
The goal is clear—to invest in you, the people of the region, working with initiatives that improve your quality of life and enhance personal and economic opportunity. Mount Airy Casino Resort employees will also be educated about and encouraged to pursue volunteer and charitable efforts, both supported by the foundation and connected to their own interests and lives. Recognizing that our employees are members of the community we serve, we acknowledge their need to initiate, develop, and participate in programs they feel vitalize it in the best ways possible.
The foundation will focus on four main areas for the Pocono Mountains community:
- Childhood development. The foundation will seek opportunities to help organizations supporting low-income, at-risk, and otherwise disadvantaged youth, as well as early-childhood development and education programs. It will also keep in mind that efforts promoting children in general will better serve the community’s development as a whole. It takes a village to raise a child; the foundation takes this seriously.
- Community development. As the foundation integrates itself into the fabric of the region, it will identify underserved populations and programs. Initiating and joining efforts that work to expand and strengthen existing community infrastructure, new avenues will also be pursued for the betterment of our neighbors and neighborhoods.
- Diversity. The foundation will support valid diversity components that encourage economic, professional, and personal growth for all, with a special focus on underserved groups in the community. Initiatives and programs that work to promote and celebrate the rich diversity of this ever-evolving region will be of special interest.
- Education. The foundation will especially seek to support and strengthen public education programs for students from kindergarten through the university level. Acknowledging the importance of proper growth at all levels, the foundation will keep a close eye on the needs of the region’s youth.
Mount Airy Casino Resort will underwrite and absorb all administrative costs associated with managing and operating the foundation, ensuring that 100 percent of company and employee contributions reach and benefit the intended recipients.
